THE COST OF CONSTANT STIMULATION
By OVERZ WEAR

We grow accustomed to constant noise
and stop noticing how it exhausts us.
It arrives quietly,
woven into the day through screens, signals,
and endless streams of information.
Sound overlaps sound.
Light never fully fades.
Attention is always occupied.
Over time, this constant pressure weakens focus.
The mind begins to jump
instead of resting.
Thoughts become fragmented.
The sense of presence diminishes.
The body pays the price first.
Breath becomes shallow.
Movement accelerates.
Even in stillness,
the nervous system remains tense and alert.
What exhausts us is not effort, but excess.
Too many impressions.
Too many demands.
Rest turns into a pause between external signals,
not true recovery.

Clarity requires space.
When noise recedes,
attention gathers on its own.
Silence stops feeling empty
and becomes supportive.
Not every signal deserves a response.
Strength returns
when external stimulation is reduced.
Focus sharpens
when restraint is chosen.
This is not withdrawal.
This is preservation.
OVERZ — precision through restraint.
